“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.”
Most of us are aware that the majority of older teens and adults that come to faith in Christ have been greatly influenced to do so by a close friend or family member.
Research indicates that mass mailings and television ads often turn people away from church and the Christian faith instead of encouraging them.
We know this intuitively. It takes people to reach people but how do we do that? Is there a proven method, a process that can be a guide for all of us as we seek to influence those around us for Christ? Redbud’s 11.30 Challenge is a process designed to help you do that.
The concept is easy. One person identifies four individuals within his community who are lost. Begin by praying for each of those people. Invest in their lives. Get to know them a little better and then invite them to church, church fellowships, Bible study, etc. It is the hope of the body of Christ that each one of these comes to know Jesus as his personal Savior and Lord. They in turn will identify their own four lost friends and thus the 11.30 challenge keeps going until Jesus’ return.
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
